Windows Server 2008 and R2 Default Background Colors

Have you ever changed the default Windows Server 2008 desktop color and wanted to change it back? The blueish-green color is not shown in the default palette, so you have to enter the RGB values manually.

Red = 29
Green = 95
Blue = 122

Here are the RGB values for the default Windows Server 2008 R2 desktop:

Red = 58
Green = 110
Blue = 165


While I'm at it, here is the formula for the cool smokey blue background for Windows PowerShell 2:

Red = 1
Green = 36
Blue = 86

    I think you have the colors in the wrong order it should be
    Red 29
    Green 95
    Blue 122

    do you know the background color for 2008 R2. it's more of a light blue but i can't seem to duplicate it.

    The Windows Server 2008 R2 background colors are:

    Red 58
    Green 110
    Blue 165

    thanks for the quick response. are you sure that is correct? it looks like there is a bit more green than my R2 servers. i'm not sure but perhaps it's different for terminal servers?

    I checked it against two physical servers and they both show the same values. Perhaps your RDP session is not set to use something less than 16-bit color?
